Garfield County was established in 1881 from the eastern portion of Columbia County. It remained attached to Columbia County for judicial purposes until 1883 when District Court was established for the County. Court sessions were held in Pomeroy. District Court case files are arranged chronologically by date.
Probate Court was established in 1881. Case files are arranged alphabetically by last name.
Territorial court records from Garfield County include Civil, Criminal, and Probate cases.
