The Office of Secretary of State is partnering with the Washington State Historical Society and others to commemorate the 125th anniversary of statehood.

A new exhibit presented by Legacy Washington and the Office of Secretary of State, Washington 1889: Blazes, Rails and the Year of Statehood will open in our lobby at the Capital highlighting the major stories of that year. Please consider donating or volunteering to the exhibit or event. We are always looking for story ideas as well as artifacts pertinent to the era. With the community's help we can make this a success!
