Dipping or Lowering of the State Flag

The Washington State flag should be dipped as a mark of honor to the U.S. flag, or to the national anthem if the U.S. flag is not being displayed. When the Washington State flag is dipped, care must be taken that it does not touch the ground or floor.

The Washington State flag may be dipped as a matter of courtesy to the flag of another nation, or to its national anthem if the flag is not being displayed.
