A long article about the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council’s “Telework Pilot Project” to encourage telecommuting mentions the Kitsap Regional Library’s IT staff who telecommute on a once a week schedule to help provide 24/7 coverage. (An estimated 25 to 40 percent of Kitsap County’s work force commutes across the Sound.) (Independent [Port Orchard], 9-24-08)



Buildings:

An article and a letter discuss the Pend Oreille County Library Board of Trustees’ decision to spend $150,000 on renovations for the Newport Library building which is not owned by the library, but by the city. (Both, Newport Miner, 10-1-08)
