[/caption] As the storm continues to pound Western Washington library services are effected. All of us our doing our best to make it into work, braving raging winds on a ferry and slowly making our way across icy roads. However, the weather has managed to defeat our best efforts. Flooding seems to be the biggest foe as roads close, power goes out, and buildings flood. I for one have spent more time at home than I would have liked. When I get back to work I will have some work to catch up on, but I would gladly put up with it if I didn't have to face the questions, Why? Why was the library closed? As we work alone in our branches, missing work means closing the doors. I never like closing the doors as many of the inmates see the library as a refuge, especially in crazy weather like we are experiencing now. Hopefully the closures will be minimal and maybe just maybe a little bit of sunshine to brighten the day.
