Hard Times in Washington: Flooding

When you live in a state that receives lots and lots of rain in the lowlands and snow in the mountains, you’re bound to get flooding occasionally. Over the years, many Washingtonians have experienced their share of floods. This 1949 photo shows a flooded road in Clark County. October is Washington Archives Month, and this year’s theme is Washington’s struggles and setbacks over the years and how the people of this state have overcome them.
