1889 Election proclamation tops `treasures' poll

With this year’s General Election set to end in less than two weeks, it was fitting that voters in the October Archives treasures online poll selected Gov. Moore’s proclamation for the 1889 General Election as their favorite of the three candidates this month.

The 1889 proclamation (below) attracted 43 percent of the votes, edging out photos of the 1962 Columbus Day Storm (32 percent) and 1965 photos of Gov. Evans successfully summiting Mount Rainier (25 percent).
