Election fun: Library jewel -- a 1884 party ticket

Nowadays, you can find out a political party’s slate of candidates a whole bunch of ways. But it was a bit harder to find out back in 1884. That year, the Snohomish County Democrats used this ticket to inform voters of their candidates. That’s the ticket (apologies to Jon Lovitz) we’re featuring as our first Library jewel nominee for our latest online contest. Topping the Snohomish County ticket was Charles S. Voorhees, who won the race that year for Delegate to Congress. We’ll feature two other items or collections from the State Library this week, then we’ll launch an online poll so you can choose your favorite.
