Archives Treasures' `November Nuttiness' kicks off: Black Panther photos vs. Narrows Bridge drawings
College basketball has “March Madness.” And now our popular Archives Treasures blog series has “November Nuttiness.”
Since January, we’ve blogged about many of the cool and historical items and collections found in our State Archives. Not long ago, an employee here suggested having a “tournament” in which the most popular Archives Treasures based on our online polls would face each other until a champion was chosen.
We liked that idea, so we’ve created a tourney that features the top polling items or collections from the past 10 months, plus six “at large” items or collections that also did well in our online polls going back to January.
The first “November Nuttiness” contest matches up the collection of 1969 Black Panther protest photos (February’s Archives Treasures winner) against the 1940 Tacoma Narrows Bridge drawings.
You have until Thursday at 9 a.m. to vote for your favorite among these two. We’ll post results soon afterward. Look for a new matchup each day over the next few weeks until you, loyal blog readers, decide the champion.
