The school’s students try to do several service projects around town throughout the school year. (The Wenatchee World, Wenatchee, 1/28/16) Pend Oreille County Library District officer elected Katherine Schutte will continue as chair of the Pend Oreille County Library District for one more year as a result of elections held at the district’s November board meeting. Jane Miller Floyd will remain as vice-chair and Diane Stone will take on the secretary responsibilities. (Newport Miner, Newport, 1/20/16) District seeks out cities’ annexation (Tri-City Herald, Kennewick, 1/24/16) People Birthday wish becomes a generous PT library donation (The Leader, Port Townsend, 1/20/16) Programs & Displays School district, KCLS create student access accounts (Kent Reporter, Kent, 1/15/16) New toys at Tenino Timberland Library Tenino Timberland Library added a fire station, complete with fire engine and firefighter figures, to their collection of educational toys for children. A new games computer is on order. An ADA-compliant front door was purchased and will be added to the building soon; their sandstone book sculpture will be refurbished; and a new, larger library sign will be installed.
