A hero visits the Capitol

Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Petry, who received the Medal of Honor from President Obama during a White House ceremony last week, visited our State Capitol Wednesday morning.

The Olympian has this story about Petry’s visit to Joint Base Lewis-McChord Tuesday.

In this photo, Petry asked 1SG Patrick McDonald, D/448th Civil Affairs BN, to straighten out his Medal of Honor prior to going into a meeting with Governor Gregoire. McDonald is Assistant to Secretary of State Reed. SFC Petry is from the 2/75 Ranger at JBLM, also the home of the 448th CAB.
