If you like state history, fairs and festivals, or cool and colorful posters, then check out the new and free 2011 Washington Archives Month poster.

Every October, the State Archives co-sponsors Washington Archives Month. As you likely guessed by now, this year’s theme is “Fairs and Festivals.”

You can download the new poster by going to the Archives Month website here. The website features links to free workshops, FAQs, collections of interest, and featured photographs.

If you want to pick up a free printed poster, you can go to:
• the State Archives office at 1129 Washington St. SE in Olympia;
• the Office of Secretary of State’s executive office, located in the northwest corner of the second floor of the Legislative Building in Olympia; or
• one of the State Archives’ regional branches in Bellevue, Bellingham, Cheney or Ellensburg.

Sorry, but due to budget constraints, we cannot mail the printed poster to those requesting one.

Go here for more info about our State Archives and its branches, including the award-winning Digital Archives in Cheney.
