Whenever we launch our monthly Archives treasures online poll, it’s usually clear right away which of the three entries will win. This month’s poll saw a back-and-forth affair between the 1889 statehood telegram and the 1919 Centralia Massacre documents. The statehood telegram won in the end, taking 47 percent of the votes, while the Centralia Massacre docs collected 40 percent. The 1854 territorial election returns finished a distant third with 13 percent. The Archives treasures monthly blog series highlights the rare and interesting photos, documents and collections found in the State Archives.
