Find answers to the following questions, and more:

What exactly is an Optional Municipal Code City?
Where can I find a plain-English explanation of property taxes in Washington State?
What is “OPMA” and why should I care?
Where can I go for help?

The new online format allows users to connect to RCWs, WACs, Articles of the State Constitution, Attorney General Opinions, and more, as well as resources from a wide variety of organizations and agencies that provide additional clarification and guidance at the click of a mouse or a tap on a touch screen. Come to the sneak preview of the wiki and see how easy it will be to connect to the information you need. Two sessions of this online presentation, sponsored by Washington Library Friends, Foundations, Trustees & Advocates (WLFFTA), an interest group of the Washington Library Association, will be offered. COME TO FIRST TUESDAYS Do you serve on the board of a Washington nonprofit such as a public library? Do you know what your fiduciary responsibilities are? Please take a few moments to provide your feedback by visiting www.surveymonkey.com/s/cena2013. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ARSL FALL CONFERENCE The Washington State Library, thanks to funding from the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), is making full scholarships available for rural and tribal library staff to attend the 2013 conference of the Association of Rural and Small Libraries (ARSL), which will be held from Wednesday, September 25 – Saturday, September 28, 2013, in Omaha, Nebraska. Scholarships will include all conference fees, transportation, and other expenses. Eligible applicants must:

Work at a small and rural library (serving 10,000 or fewer), or in a tribal library in Washington State;
Be a first-time attendee at the ARSL conference;
Demonstrate a willingness to share knowledge gained from conference attendance with fellow library/district staff through a webinar, printed article, blog post, etc.;
Show how conference attendance will help to meet the library’s goals as they relate to the eight LSTA priorities (www.sos.wa.gov/quicklinks/LSTA-8);
Attach authorized (signed) permission to the application.
