From the road:

Day 1 of College Civics was yesterday as we headed south as part of our new statewide effort “Find Your One Thing." Sam visited four campuses yesterday – Centralia Community, Clark College, WSU-Vancouver and Lower Columbia College. At each stop, students were concerned about the state economy and budget cuts – and what that meant for them.

But all the uncertainty is really hitting home the fact that this is the time to give back and Washingtonians need to step back now and find one thing to contribute to their communities.

Halfway through the day, at Clark College where a canned food drive was underway, Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown joined Sam in the talk about the power of a single act.
