Remember all that talk around our office about Finding Your One Thing?

Tonight’s your chance to actually do that One Thing to get engaged in your community. In what promises to be a kick of a party tonight from 4 to 7 p.m. at Heritage Park in Olympia, the Volunteer Center of Lewis, Mason, and Thurston Counties is hosting an event to get people of all ages psyched about President Obama’s national call for a summer of service.

Obama’s United We Serve push is meant to engage Americans this summer in helping out the community in various areas – like volunteering in schools or at clinics, and saving energy and living greener.

The event tonight at Heritage Park is a great way to link up with other service-minded folks and check off that One Thing! Call 360-741-2622 for details or visit www.volunteer.ws .

Join in the service bandwagon, and share your ideas and experiences with community members at Secretary Reed’s Find Your One Thing cause on Facebook.
