Secretary of State Sam Reed has certified the returns from the Aug. 17 Washington state Top 2 Primary and the finalists for the upcoming November General Election.

The first candidate listed for each office was the top vote-getter. The second was the runner-up.

Ballots go out by Oct. 15, with military and overseas ballots going out before that. Nov. 2 is the deadline for a postmark for all general ballots, and some Pierce County voters will have access to poll sites that day.

The primary attracted a better-than-expected 41 percent of Washington's 3.6 million registered voters. In the General Election, voters will pick a U.S. senator, nine members of the U.S. House, 98 state House members, 25 state senators, three Supreme Court justices and other judges, a variety of local officeholders, and will decide the fate of nine statewide ballot propositions.
