The copies are all trade paperbacks that have been property stamped and are left over from Pierce County Library’s community read program. 309 print and 34 audio books are available. A minimum request of at least five books is required. If you are interested, please contact Carolyn Petersen at [email protected] or toll-free at 866-538-4996. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF IMLS The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is developing a strategic plan to guide their work and priorities over the next five years, and will be posting highlights of the draft plan for public comment on Friday, July 15. The new plan will help IMLS rigorously examine its grant programs, research and leadership initiatives, and to focus on results. The years ahead will be critical ones for the nation’s libraries and museums. Your help is needed to shape IMLS programs and services to most effectively meet public needs. To view the draft and provide feedback, go to www.imls.gov. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) BOTTOM LINE ON VOLUNTEERS – DATE CORRECTION When the library budget calls for doing more with less, volunteers can be a great solution.
