Reynolds Scholarships from WLA members who are currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited MLIS degree program and have completed at least one semester or quarter. One or more scholarships, up to $6,000 per recipient, will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate leadership potential in the profession and a commitment to libraries and library service. Applications are due Monday, July 15, 2013. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) HEALTHY LIVING GRANT PROGRAM The American Medical Association (AMA), supported by Purdue Pharma L.P., and with additional support from Teva Pharmaceutical, will award 30 grants of $8,000 to $10,000 for its 2013 Healthy Living Grant Program. The Program funds health education programs for school and community-based solutions to behavioral health challenges. Project criteria include:
- Partnership with a medical organization;
- A target audience that is an underserved or at-risk population;
- A target audience of youth or young adults between the ages of 2 – 21.
- Computer programming;
- Digital imaging (photography, graphic design, videography);
- Music production;
- Robotics;
- Gaming and mobile app development.
