But times have changed. Now, as organizations have expanded and have become increasingly more complex, no matter what the formal hierarchies are, people must work with each other across reporting lines. It doesn’t work to say, “Do it because I told you so.” Leading from any position requires a higher level of leadership and influencing skills. Leading Without Authority is a new workshop from WSL, presented by Cyndi Schaeffer, the King County Human Resources Division Change and Organizational Development Manager. Cyndi holds a Ph.D. in Leadership and Change Management. In this workshop, participants will learn about:
- Leadership concepts and frameworks, including emotional intelligence;
- Effective communication skills;
- Techniques for leading teams and motivating others.
