The purpose of this grant cycle is to empower libraries as exploration centers for youth. This grant cycle enables public and tribal libraries to apply for a Mindstorm Lego® Robotics kit or an Eggbot Robotics kit. WSL expects youth will increase their science, technology, engineering, and math skills through interaction with the kits. The contents of the Mindstorm Lego® Robotics kit and the Eggbot Robotics kits can be found in the third section of the grant guidelines.
- Grant guidelines and the application forms will be posted on Monday, July 13th at http://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/grants/.

- Host a summit of funding agencies to work toward adoption of shared standards for digitization and metadata.
- Explore support for a shared regional digital content system.
- Support existing local and regional collaborative digitization projects, as well as existing statewide newspaper digitization programs in both Washington and Oregon.
- Develop various written materials (toolkits, outreach materials, etc.) focused on broad community participation and establish a shared email list for distribution of materials and project updates.
- Encourage institutions in Washington and Oregon to form one or more initial collaborative project(s) focused on eventual participation in the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA).
- Support the option of participation in the Orbis Cascade Alliance’s (OCA) Content Creation & Dissemination (CCD) Program for OCA members.
