Waste Management presented a $1,500 donation on December 17 to the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation. The donation was part of a collaboration between Waste Management and the Glassybaby White Light Fund. (The Herald, Everett, 12/21/15)

Friends group purchases neon sign for the library
The Friends of the Waterville Library recently found that there was a need to help residents know when the library is open and when it is closed. The group addressed this simple need by purchasing a neon open/closed sign. The sign will hang in the window of the library and will make it easy for passersby to know whether or not they can drop in to browse, or to check out a book or other resource. Library adds digital kiosk at Pangborn
North Central Regional Library (NCRL) has installed a new digital kiosk at Pangborn Memorial Airport to help travelers check out digital media and charge their electronic devices before leaving on a trip. The kiosk allows library patrons to browse ebook and audiobook titles and then download them onto their mobile devices. Those travelers without a library card from one of the 30 libraries in the NCRL system can get a 24-hour pass that will allow them to download up to three books. Digital books return themselves on their due date. The kiosk cost about $12,000. If it proves popular, the library board will consider adding the kiosks at other locations.
