… but you may not know they were made possible by a committee dedicated to preserving and restoring historic furnishings. Tomorrow, the Capitol Furnishings Preservation Committee is hosting a fundraising auction in the Governor’s Mansion from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. All proceeds will go towards restoring capitol furnishings, like fixing up the Supreme Court Law Library's original cork tables. Appetizers and drinks are included in the $50 donation taken at the door. Auction items include an inkwell and quill donated by Chief Justice Alexander, an 1889-1989 Centennial map of Washington, lunch and a tour with the Lt. Gov., dinner for two with Gov. Gregoire, and a baseball cap signed by First Mike. If you’re interested in going, RSVP to Cindy Jennings at 360-357-2030 or [email protected].
