EVENT Washington State Library will host author Bill Lindstrom at a book talk featuring his recently published novel John Tornow: Villain or Victim? The untold story of the “Wildman of the Wynooche”. "The book is about John Tornow, alleged killer of six men. Please encourage the teachers and students in grades 4 - 12 at your school or in your library area to participate. Homeschoolers are welcome as well.
  • Level 3 (grades 9-12) entries must be postmarked by December 15th.
  • Level 1 (grades 4-6) and Level 2 (grades 7-8) entries must be postmarked by January 15, 2015.
This is the tenth year Washington State Library has sponsored Letters About Literature.   • 2015 Library Legislative Day Registration is open.
Library Legislative Day is a great opportunity to network with library supporters from around the state and meet with State Legislators and their staff to discuss the value of libraries. The conference theme is "Building an Environment of Collaboration Across Boundaries”.
  • The deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, December 12, 2014.
  • Presentations may be standard 50 minute sessions or 5 minute lightning rounds.
  • More proposals are needed from Library and Institutional Research areas.
