If you want to see how Washington Talking Book & Braille Library is doing and how it helps patrons, check out its recently released 2016 Annual Report. You can view the report here. It also can be viewed in an electronic-braille format or audio format. The WTBBL report shows the library in fiscal year 2016 circulated 289,492 audiobooks and 4,858 braille books, and had 86,606 Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) audio downloads and 3,043 BARD braille downloads. The report discusses how the library recruits new readers through community outreach, and also shows how WTBBL is reaching out to Washington’s Spanish-speaking community and expanding its services available in Spanish. The report shares how the library empowers children and their families through its Youth Services Program. And it includes features on a WTBBL patron, staffer, and volunteer. Based in downtown Seattle, the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library has patrons in all 39 counties of the state. Its patrons range from birth to over age 100. WTBBL joined the Washington State Library in 2008. The State Library is a division of the Office of Secretary of State.
