Partnership Offers Free Technology Training Opportunities

If your patrons are looking to learn new skills or get some job training, you might point them to the nearest WorkSource training center. Gov. Gregoire announced yesterday a partnership with Microsoft to provide 30,000 vouchers for free technology training via the Elevate America program. From the press release:

“This is an example of what we need to emerge stronger from this recession,” Gregoire said. “When this downturn ends, we will need more skilled workers ready to enter the job market. Microsoft’s generosity will provide thousands of men and women the skills they need to work with the software that runs our businesses. This will help strengthen our economy and increase our state’s global competitiveness.”

Courses range from basic technology literacy to intermediate-level skills training, so there's something for everyone who wants to gain new technology skills.
