The State Archives is located at 1129 Washington Street SE in Olympia. It’s located just south of the Old County Courthouse on the Washington Street side.
Folks who attend will get a chance to:
-
view documents from the early days of Olympia, Lacey, Tenino and other areas of Thurston County;
-
see a slide program, entitled “How Did That Get Its Name?” that will answer how local towns, streets, lakes and other landmarks were named; and
-
tour the SW Washington Regional and State Archives.
Refreshments will be served at this free event, which is being run by the Thurston County Historic Commission and the City of Olympia. For more info, call Thurston County Parks and Recreation at (360) 786-5595.
