“There are many talented college-age artists who are skilled at various art platforms. We hope they’ll submit entries that inspire and engage other students so they register to vote and have their voice heard by taking part in our elections.”All two-dimensional artwork, including paintings, drawings, photography and computer-generated art, will be accepted. All entries must reflect the contest theme “The Future is Yours,” be original in concept, design and execution, and include a release form signed by the student and teacher/faculty member. All entries must be received by the Elections Division by 5 p.m. on June 15 to be considered. Submissions must be in one of the following file formats: JPEG, TIF, PNG, SVG or PDF. All artwork must be submitted to the office of Secretary of State electronically using the cloud-based file transfer site www.wetransfer.com. After a judging panel narrows down the submissions to the top 10, those 10 will be posted on the Washington State Elections Facebook page, where people can vote for which artwork they would like to see in the Voters’ Pamphlet by clicking “Like” or “Love.” The pamphlets with the most “likes” and “loves” will move to the final round of judging in which Secretary of State Wyman will choose the winner. The winning artwork will be featured in the 2016 General Election Voters' Pamphlet distributed to more than 3 million households throughout the state.
