State Library now key resource on Access Washington page

For years, the Washington State Library has been a top go-to place for researchers, students, history buffs and others seeking information online, particularly about Washington. Now, the State Library will be the chief information resource for anyone perusing Access Washington, the state government’s information portal. On Access Washington’s Contact Us/Help Center section, the State Library will be featured as the chief information resource for all things Washington. As they do otherwise, State Library staff will be available to answer questions via chat, e-mail or phone through its Ask a Librarian service. State Librarian Rand Simmons:

“The State Library will be THE information source for anyone using Access Washington. Thanks to this new portal, individuals needing more assistance than they can find on Access Washington can connect with a live person through our Ask-a-Librarian service and receive help.”

Secretary of State Kim Wyman said she was delighted with the recognition of the resources available through the Washington State Library. She added:

“The State Library is a core service of state government and is an enormous asset for citizens, the Legislature and state agencies, and to our community and institutional libraries all across the state. The Access Washington portal will raise the visibility and the information and service culture of the library. I couldn’t be more pleased.”

The State Library is a division of the Office of Secretary of State.
