OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington Talking Book & Braille Library (WTBBL), which provides access to information and reading materials for people who are unable to read standard print, is seeking donations during GiveBIG 2022, May 3-4.
WTBBL’s goal is to raise at least $10,000 to support the library’s equipment, collections, and additional programming needs.
“WTBBL is building a greater a sense of community and providing an enriching experience for the thousands of patrons we are privileged to serve,” said WTBBL Director Danielle Miller. “We are participating in this year’s GiveBIG campaign to offer our generous donors and the public a convenient way to support our innovative programs and services. We invite our fellow Washingtonians to help us further our mission, ‘That All May Read.’”
One of two annual Washington Gives fundraisers, GiveBIG is a 48-hour-long online giving campaign that supports nonprofits statewide. Although GiveBIG takes place May 3-4, WTBBL is accepting donations now. To contribute, visit WTBBL’s page on the GiveBIG website.
Last year, WTBBL raised nearly $10,000 for its Audiobook Production Department. Each year WTBBL staff and volunteers produce on average 150 new audiobooks — with a focus on Pacific Northwest authors and subjects — at the library and make them available to patrons nationwide by U.S. mail and for download through the National Library Service.
WTBBL, which celebrated its 90th anniversary last year, is part of Washington State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State. For more information, visit wtbbl.org, and follow WTBBL on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
Washington State Library (including WTBBL), Washington State Archives, and Legacy Washington programs are supported by ALL Foundation of Washington, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered with the state. The foundation serves as the fiduciary for funds raised specifically to support these programs and collections.
ALL Foundation of Washington is also participating in GiveBIG 2022. To learn more, visit the foundation’s page on the GiveBIG website.
