OLYMPIA — Secretary of State Steve Hobbs issued the following statement on the passing of Don Bonker, who served seven terms representing Washington’s 3rd District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1975 to 1989.
“On Tuesday, the nation said goodbye to one of Washington’s greatest and most enduring leaders. Rep. Don Bonker’s legacy of service as Clark County Auditor and U.S. Representative, and his steadfast support for the people he was privileged to serve helped shape the future of our state and is an inspiration to generations of Washingtonians.
“We at the Office of the Secretary of State wish to express our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and everyone who is blessed to have known him.”
