Is this the year that the Mariners finally reach the World Series? Some baseball experts think so. While we won't know the answer until October, it's fun to at least dream of World Series tickets for our beloved M's. In honor of opening day for the Mariners, our ever-alert State Archives staff has found something that lets us imagine a Fall Classic involving Seattle: phantom tickets for the 1996 World Series, with games 1, 2 and 6 slated to be played in the now-long-gone Kingdome. Obviously, these tix were never used (the Yankees beat the Braves in the '96 Series), but it's fun to dream. Go M's!
